Christina Balmer
Christina is an actress, voice-artist, and producer. Her recent acting credits include a hugely successful ATG/Smith and Brant UK tour of Fatal Attraction, but she has also performed on TV and film, as well as numerous voice-over projects. She is represented by Beresford Management.
Christina founded The XV in 2015, to collaborate and explore theatre with fellow creatives. Her producing credits include Cast Aside by Tim Waller, Shakespeare in Love, a devised piece, Relatively Speaking by Alan Ayckbourne, Perfect Pitch by John Godber.
She co-devised and produced ‘In Memory Of…”, a commissioned theatre piece marking the centenary of the end of WW1. The XV was also commissioned to write two short radio plays for the Bedford Park Festival during the lockdown of 2020 and she wrote a short play, Dusted With Sugar, and co-wrote Creature Features with long-time collaborator, Freya Alderson.
Freya Alderson
Freya Alderson is an actress, puppeteer, and writer. She trained with the National Youth Theatre and Drama Studio London. She holds at BA Hons in English Literature from Newcastle University. As as actress she has performed in the west end, on national tours and on screen. Her writing credits include staged works at The Etcetera Theatre, The Hope, Museum of Comedy and Northern Stage. She is currently working with several production companies on adapting her original plays under option. She was the Top 10 Finalist of the BAFTA Rocliffe new writing award 2021.
Freya is represented by Davis Gordon Management.
The XV Theatre Company is headed by co-artistic directors, Christina Balmer and Freya Alderson.
James Simmons and Adam Leese, prolific actors of the stage and screen are associates of The XV and have worked with the company since it's inception.
